hello

first sorry for the bad english i wil do my best

i have a pana plasma th42pv60eh
i have been trying to caibrate the contrast but i realy dont know wat to be looking for
i have DVE and have found no image to calibrate the contrast

the colour, brichtness and sharpness wher no problem

ive tried the smtp img with a 100 percent with a 95 precent box in the middle but how high i go
can not make the squere go completly white

is there another way to set contrast on a plasma

You should pay attention to the following points when setting contrast level.

1) Go for the maximum contrast that is comfortable for your daily viewing. I assume that your plasma has been sufficiently run-in to avoid the potential risk of screen burn.

2) Avoid hard clipping of peak whites at the higher end of DVE grayscale steps. Not all TV will clip though.

3) Make sure the colour of peak whites do not change or shift when increasing contrast level.

4) You want to be able to see highlight details and make sure that your contrast setting is not probelmatic in say, bright afternoon scenes.
