This was asked in the 'Sharp LC42XD1E & LC46XD1E Reviews' thread but there was no answer.

I want to connect a HDV camcorder to the LC42XD1E but am hesitating on buying it after finding out that the component must be connected through the VGA connection and that the VGA is limited to 1280x1024. I need to get a 1920 x 1080 signal into the tv.

Has anyone successfully gotten a 1920x1080 component signal into this TV?
