I just got this TV today and went crazy at the looks and style, love it… Well until I started watching DVD’s on it… Now, having read the review I do not think the picture quality is all that. I seem to get blocky edges around people and curving objects, try as I might I simply can not get the picture menu to access warm 1 or warm 2 just normal and cool 1 and 2.

Film mode is a colour wash out, dynamic makes the block edges worse and normal seems a little garish in an undertoned way (if you can have such a thing)

I got the DVD plugged in using scart on a RGB PAL output, yes… I tried the progressive scan output from the DVD player only to have the screen go black and have to take the player to a mates to see the menu again and adjust it.

Is this just my TV bashed about in transit? Can someone suggest a good set up option? Any Ideas as to why I can not select warm 1 or 2?

Thanks Guys/Girls for your help. (I got the 26" version in the bed room for the laptop and I dont seem to have these problems.)

If you are noticing jaggies with movies and find that intolerable, try switching on Movie Plus to see if it disappears. I don't have a test pattern for 2:2 cadence for PAL DVDs but if that doesn't work you can be sure it doesn't have it. The other thing is that you might be sitting too near for them to show up.

I think if you are standard mode, which doesnt allow warm 1 or 2 to be selected.

Start calibarating from the movie mode and see what happens.

Hello,
thank you very much for your LE32R87BDX review, it helped me very much in my choice (I bought it!). Me too I just would like to ask you to share your calibration settings about this television: i've tried the Samsung LE40M86BD ones, they've improved some aspects of the image but I'm not totally satisified about the colours.

Thanks in advance!

thanks for the brilliant review and all of the detail you went into i appreciate it and has helped me to decide on which tv i want to have in my room

i am probally going to buy the LE32R87BDX and i was wondering if anybody knew of a good wall mount (arm) to mount it with its going to be in my bedroom so it needs to be seen from all over the room

i know that people say that you cant wall mount this particular tv but a few people say they have done it with an arm mount

if anybody has mounted this tv or knows of a good mount for it then please post back

its vesa 200x200 compatible if you didn't already know

I just bought a LE32R87BD, and I'm having trouble with the PC input - I can't get a picture!  I've tried 2 laptops (one vista, one XP) and an XP desktop, all of which have output to similar screens in the past.  I've checked and re-checked the resolution settings etc, with no joy.  I've noticed that even when there's a computer connected, all the PC options in the menu stay greyed out, as if the TV isn't detecting any input.

Any ideas?  I'm absolutely stumped, unless it's a case of a dodgy VGA port on the TV.

Uhm can you guys please post the calibrated settings?

I am going nuts trying to calibrate mine, fairly new at this.

Also is it ok to play games without "Game mode"?
In game mode you get stuck on the standard color pallet, and i prefer the movie one.

Thanks.

Hi everyone!

Just got this TV, and so far I love it. I (and I'm sure others, too) would really like it if Colin could publish the calibrated settings he mentioned in the review.

Thanks!
