The XL2E performs 2:2 pulldown for 24p signals. You can check many pictures of the 42" XL2E here:

if i understand correctly this is how it works:

        * 24Hz →  60Hz : 2-3 pulldown

        * 24Hz →  48Hz : 2-2 pulldown

        * 24Hz →  72Hz : 3-3 pulldown

        * 24Hz →  96Hz : 4-4 pulldown

        * 24Hz → 120Hz : 5-5 pulldown

but which one is better?

Since a LCD is a holding device all n:n pulldowns look exactly the same no matter how large the n is. But certainly as higher the n is, there are more frames that could be interpolated to smooth the motion. In example for a 2:2 pulldown there is only 1 (n-1) picture that can be interpolated, for a 5:5 pulldown there are 4 (n-1) pictures that can be interpolated. Motion interpolation is an optional feature that many televisions provide as an optional picture improvement feature.
