Richer Sounds ?
« on: 28 October 2007, 07:30:14 AM »
I was window shopping for my next TV and had a look in 'Richer Sounds' who have a string of outlets throughout the UK.

I get the impression that these shops are primarily aimed at students;as most of the TV's are last years models/versions
of popular Brands such as Samsung,Sharp,Philips,etc...

I'm always impressed at the quality/sharpness of picture on ALL of the display TV's (particularly the Philips sets).
Can you tell me how Richer Sounds acheive this and if you consider a purchase from this company a good idea?

Hi

I think compared to other high street retailers like Comet and Currys, Richer Sounds tend to have less numbers of TVs on display (so the source signal needs to be distributed to less TVs) with better connections (component/ HDMI rather than composite/ aerial feed), which may explain the better picture quality.

Richer Sounds is a reputable quality with - in my experience - good customer service. If the deal is right I wouldn't hesitate purchasing from them/

Warmest regards
Vincent

I wouldn't say that, because I can't think of too many students who could afford to buy most of the stuff they sell. But you're right in identifying that most of their good offers are on end of line items. Nothing wrong with that at all, and it does mean you can bag yourself a bargain. Unlike Curry's who are still selling last years Sony W2000 range at quite a high price, even though it's replacement has been around for months now. At least with Richer Sounds you do get genuinely good deals, and they're customer service is a lot better than most.
