I've not seen the Toshiba Z, so I can't explain that. One thing though, is that the FPD Benchmark disc is in 1080i. It's possible that this could have also skewed the results, that is to say, with Progressive input there may be less of an issue.
Lyris, thanks a lot for your breakdown of capabilities, I do have one question though. You mention Sony's accurate color. How are the colors with Toshiba and Samsung?
The colour on the Sony is simply accurate to start with (on the "Normal" Colour Space setting). The Toshiba and Samsung can achieve near-accuracy with some tweaking.
So I guess it's choosing between:
[Sony] super-accurate, but with no 100hz, no 5:5 pull down and bad 3:2 and 2:2 pulldowns
[Toshiba] near-accurate and including those capabilities..
I'm getting the Toshiba today

. Thank for your help and reviews, doing a great job!!!
PS: I haven't seen the settings you used for Toshiba in post-calibration (I did find the greyscale settings).
PPS: is it to be advised to correct the greyscale as is described in your test or does it differ a lot per unique tv? (as opposed to Toshiba having this off-greyscale in all 40ZF355D?)
