After reading the review of the LG 42SL9000, I decided to go out and buy it. But now I've got it connected, I got 3 questions:
1. I've got an external HDD loaded with MKV movies that are encoded with DTS sound. When I connect this HDD and select the approporiate file/movie, the image plays back fine, but the audio isn't recognized/supported. I've also connected the Logitech Z-5500 through the optical-out, but still no sound. Does anyone know a way to playback the sound through the TV without any external devices and is there a way to just put the sound straight through the optical out and let whichever device is connected do the decoding?
2. Does anyone know the difference between the 9000 and 9500? On most images I find on the internet, the border looks completely black, while my version has a silver edge at the bottom, which I find extremely ugly and distracting. Here are 2 pictures to show you what I'm talking about:
