Best for watching SKYSPORTS football

I presently have a Sony Bravia 32V2000 HDTV (1080i )  and watching football  via the Skyplus HD box.

The 32" is a bit small for the room and also 5-6 years old.

I would like advice on purchasing the best HDTV in sizes 40 or 42 ,46 max......
The most important  aspect to be picture quality for watching football .
I dont think i wish to go down the 3D route.

Would your recommendations be a vast increase in picture quality compared to my present 32v2000 bravia.

Plasma televisions are generally acknowledged as superior in motion handling which is important for fast-action sports like football. Usually I would recommend Panasonic plasmas, but because their recent batch seems to suffer from artefacts with 50hz source, Samsung plasma TVs may be a better choice (although you might want to wait until we've tested one to give you an idea of their picture quality).
