Does the D7000 have full chroma bandwidth?

Uh oh, second post in the forum and already OT! ::)

Thanks!
No, it doesn't, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I know 'Gamma' is not always what says on the Tin on certain TV's ie '1.8 / 2.0 /2.2 etc but on the sammys its labelled as -3 -2 -1  '0'  +1 +2 +3  .

Any ideas on which of the above would be near to 2.2 ?. my guess is 0 but something says i prefer +1 as it brings out a little more shadow detail in the Blacks  ?

Cheers

Oh Pooh LOL, I was hoping you would have said +1 is 2.2 LOL  :o, Was thinking a little more shadow detail would have been nice  :P, When i up Gamma to +1 then reset brightness i end up with the same PQ  ???,
Standard mode with Ref 16 Black Brightness shows more detail than Movie mode , Any idea why Johnboy  ??? :P

I also tend to find that -1 is the 2.2 setting - but it varies depending on the video processor.

Be great if you could pop down and measure mine David !, I can remember all to well what 1.8 was like on the G10 panny in cinema mode and i hate that washed out look. Why is it that i can use say -1 with adjusted brightness then set +1 and readjust brightness but then they both look the same .

Why would that be do you think ?.
Cheers.

I'll need to try that next time I have a Samsung PDP to review. I've not seen that behaviour myself...

Thanks David, I know for sure on some other Plasmas and All LCD's with adjustable Gamma that its easy to wash out the PQ by upping Gamma, I can go to +1 or even +2 and the jump is very obvious if brightness is left as is, But if i then readjust brightness to Ref 16 black the overall PQ looks the same ?, This is on 'Movie Mode'. I found Standard mode has a better Gamma at Ref 16 Black which results in being able to see more detail in dark areas of a given scene.

Thanks
Martin

Martin, David anyone compared to the Panny GT what are the Black Levels like in a dark room (lights out)?
Also does it have an optical output. :)

I think compared to the Pannys Baz black level is a smidge higher  ;), But its not enough to bother i don't think, combine it together with the rest of the PQ (my motion issue aside lol) its a fab picture  8)

Oh yes it has an optical , All the connections are down the left hand side side 'as your facing the TV' with some along the bottom left too.
