Localised Green Patches Fault On The ST/GT/VT Plasma's.
« on: 04 December 2011, 10:29:35 AM »
Just reading on HDJunkies one of the posters is saying he has found a fix for the green patches on this years Panasonic Plasma's. This he does by using the Game mode and calibrating from there, he also says this improves the brightness on these sets as it is no longer capped in this setting.
I have just had a look and it appears there is a trade off as you lose the CMS, but i have not had a chance to see it does indeed cure the problem.

Going to have a look a bit later on Martin, not a full calibration just maybe a play around with the brightness settings.
As i say i am not sure about this as you have no control over the CMS, but when i get more time i will break out my meter and maybe David might look into this as well. :)

Just had a very long telephone conversation with Panasonic and the gist of it is this, they Panasonic admit to the problem and it is world wide but there is nothing they can do as it is down to the way this years panels are driven. They will not replace, fix or exchange any of these models due to the fact that is just the way they are and is down to governments around the world putting restrictions on power supplies.
So there you have it. If you want to your going to have to contact your retailer for a refund and look else where.  >:(

Looks like it mate, i asked if next years Panels were free of this problem would an exchange program be brought in for those who noticed it and it was a resounding NO! I then pushed him on the fact that this then was a manufacturing fault and as such the tv's were not fit for purpose again he said contact the retailer..............

Sounds about typical, Tell you what mate, the CS staff at LG are really helpful, They readily admit to issues and try and help where they can (even if its a waste of time) LOL, Much rather talk to LG than Panasonic CS ;).

I have 2 flashing pixels on my D8000 nothing major but I sent Samsung a email asking what there dead/stuck/flashing pixel policy was and explained about my 2 pixels, there reply was they wanted my model, date of purchase etc etc so they could send a rep out to check the panel for me. Great service no grumbles at all.  ;)
