Hi all.

Starting to get a bad feelin about all this now  :( also heard something disturbing from a member on tuther forum, I cant talk about on here but its something that just shouldn't happen with using a TV and I hope it will prove to be a costly failure to Panasonic. >:(

Back on topic :) My sets unchanged still and a mates sisters new ST30 has got the issue too. It was a hard call but for the money and needs there was no other set she could have got. I was hoping she may get lucky but no, my mate told me today the issue is there. I really hope for everyone that Panasonic sort this soon, my patience is running low.

After being told that Panasonic UK had to push for this after getting complaints, I'm shocked to hear some models had the 'fix' already applied in the factory, I'm sure production must have stopped some time ago. If what I have been told is more bull from Panasonic, bull I have been passing on to others I will be extremely peed off >:(

Mate if it's a linky to AVForums go for it we don't have any policy about mentioning other forums here. :)

Oh was told by PM the member doesnt want others knowing about it at the mo, its really quite seriouse though.

I will post a link to this though :) up to 90 now, any support from here would be welcome. ;Dhttp://www.avforums.com/forums/plasma-tvs/1577282-panasonic-green-tinge-fault-gathering-numbers-effected-3.html

So, it's been a week now and I didn't get a call back from the repair place yet. So I called them. At first they didn't have any record of me, but 10 minutes or so later they called back and had found the missing records.

Apparently I'm getting the update on Wednesday/Thursday. Will keep you posted.

Took about 20mins to do using 2 SD Cards first one was for peaks but i already had it installed (1218) second one was for the panel drive.

Manager and engineer from AVS were excellent and could clearly see it had not worked and both pointed out (and were quite shocked) the green & magenta and clearly stated this could be a massive problem. I have just been talking with Dominic and he wants me to run my tv for a few days and see if it improves as has been reported on AVForums, however he doubts that this is really the case.

Well people it didn't work, no improvement what so ever. :(

That is very disappointing.

Aside from the green blobs still being present, have you notice yet whether the update has affected your picture in any other way? I was wondering if it would affect the greens (that should be there!)

How long did it take and did they just stick an SD card in your TV?

Did they seem to know what they were doing or do you think you may not have had the fix applied properly?

Cheers.

You didn't say whether you think it has affected any other aspects of your picture.

That sucked... Well, maybe it magically goes away after a few days..? I'll be well surprised to see that :(

BTW, I have definitely noticed a green vertical stripe slightly right of the middle of the screen... So far only by provoking it using grey test images though, haven't had too much time to watch movies yet (none where this stuff would occur anyway..). I just hope it doesn't get worse.. Then I'll have to give Panasonic a call. Again. ???

Just had the panel driver update.

The engineer came out with 2 SD cards, one with the PEAKS update (which I already had) and one with the panel driver update (which I didn't).

The screen cuts out during the panel driver update, which makes sense. I can also see why Panasonic wouldn't want an end user to perform the update. The temptation to reset the TV after the screen goes blank...

Has it worked? I had a mild case of the problem in the centre of the panel. I can't see any difference yet, but will keep an eye on it.

One thing I will say is that flicking between my calibrated mode and the THX preset, the green splats are much more obvious pre-calibration. Calibrating does improve it, at least in my case. There is still what looks like static noise in the middle of the screen after Greyscale calibration, but it's much more distinct prior to calibration.

Let's see if this improves with time...

Evening David :D, If the issue does improve over a few days rather than an 'Instant' fix how do you think it works ?. Its no big deal but just very interested how it could do that  ;)
