Just looking at this from THX and it makes interesting reading, especialy the part on the Uniformity:

http://hdguru.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/THX_Displays_HDGuru_final-1.pdf

So how can Panasonic slap THX on there products when they clearly have a problem. Even Panasonic are blaming EU power regs on the splats, so if there aware of the issue they should remove the THX logo and inform THX.

I feel the same way John, and spoke to Panasonic today about this very point and the reply was................................contact THX nothing to do with us???????????! >:(

If I was you my reply would have been ok will do and while I'm at it I'll contact Trading Standards as these sets are being miss sold with the THX brand and your aware of the rules and regs to get a THX mark, thus your company is miss selling TVs.
Then I would contact THX and let them also know that Panasonic are aware of the blobs and your getting in touch with trading standards.

This will need more complaints from users with the blob aswell or get Panasonic to write via an email or post that the blobs are a by product of the EU power regs and forward that onto THX and Trading Standards.

I did mention i would pursue this further and at that point the conversation ended, again i pushed for a swap out program for those with this problem and again the answer was no way and to contact your retailer. The  retailer then contacts Panny who say there is no problem so it goes round and round.
I am sticking with mine, as i got mine for nothing really and i am happy with it. But for those who gave up their hard earned and have the problem more severely than me i would be very @#"*% off.

Going to sound a bit harsh here bazza so take this with a pinch of salt.

Why the bloody hell will you put up with a defect from Panasonic? Seriously mate this is supposed to be a leading brand and there cs stinks, there tvs are poor with one excuse after another, yet you want to keep it?!

Reading about the peeling filters on the Samsungs at least they have done something to resolve the issue inc offering to replace the tvs.

My LG PK590 was cheap and that had very minor DSE, poor blacks and IR but its what I wouldnt expect anything more from such a cheap set, these Panasonics are priced more than any other plasma out there yet suffer with more major issues than other brands.

Like what I said to Scooby over on AVF wake up and smell the coffee there is better brands out there.

Uncle John has spoken  >:( ;)

You are very right what you are saying John, but for me this just now  ;) is not impairing or spoiling my viewing. My retailer has been great up to now and offered a refund (some time ago though) but i could not afford to take the risk of a panel from another manufacturer that might for me have more noticeable defects better the Devil i know and all that.
Also remember John that 2012 might see Panny's free from this issue................and that might be the time to make my move. But it won't be my retailer i am going after. ;)

My early prediction
The 2012 range will be 'free' from issues untill around 1000-1500hrs when Panny do there little voltage jump and we will see many a thread with issues pop up.  ;)

In tests of the 2011 models done by CNET US, the Panasonic PDPs got slightly darker; Samsung's had a small MLL rise. So it seems like that part is under control.

Unfortunately CNET postponed several times already their 3rd MLL and color temp checks. I'm curious to see if it's really under control past the 2500 & 4000/5000Hours.

Anyone have any idea how these TV's with the THX certification achieved this?

Amazon has stopped offering the GT50 for sale, i wonder if it is related. This is the statement from Amazon:

" Item Under Review
This product is not currently offered by Amazon.co.uk because a customer recently told us that the item he or she received was not as described.

We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you may still find this product available from other sellers on this page "

The 50? You mean the 30?

That'd be a bit early. Panasonic tend to manage to get all of the old model sold out before they introduce the new one...
