Well, managed it by myself.. quite heavy, and nerve wrecking :P

Have tested it a bit, and I gotta say the PQ is absolutely great.
The impression so far is that It's just like the 42" g20, except it's 8" bigger ;D, and no floating blacks :D
Slightly more noisy around the edges of moving objects though (might just be because of the size difference), but a bit less of the phosphor trailing (as expected). All in all I think It's a noticeable improvement even without the size taken into account 8).

About the green stuff... I haven't had time to really test it out enough to say anything for sure, but I have tried a few grey full screens and mucking about with the brightness, and so far I can't really say I've seen an issue. Perhaps a teeny tiny bit of green/red tingeing here and there, but now we're talking really hard to spot. Which for me is great news :)

However, like I said, I'll have to do some more testing before I can say anything definite. Also, the panel is completely fresh, so It might not even show up for another few weeks  :P

Short on time atm, but I'll be back 8)

It doesn't work on my set or some others. Checkout AVForums in the plasma section. Whathifi dont have all the facts, as usual.

They said from the start that it wasn't a complete fix, but an improvement. Although some people say they aren't seeing that.

I'm going to see if I can take a before and after picture when mine is applied...

Dominic left me a message and i this is what i have posted on AVForums:

have to say i am a little peeved Dominic, you have contacted me today to say a service centre is going to perform the update, they don't work weekends mate and not after 4pm so what do i do now as i have just started my new job and can not get time off, which i think i explained?

Put it this way mate if AVS can perform the update then so can i as i have had dealings with them in the past and what they know about how a television picture should look would probably fit on the back of a postage stamp.

Also to be honest i was probably one of the very first to notice this as you know and realy think i should have been one of the first to have it applied as i could have taken some time to measure and look into the update as best i could!

Bloody well said mate. Seeing as they keep doing stupid stuff like this every year, why not let customers with technical experience at least have a look at it..? And they should know you and a few other forum members by now...

I'd like to have the firmware update to apply myself too - waiting for the authorised service centre is a bit of a pain. I asked politely for it but they insisted that a service agent does it.

I've had horrible experiences with TV repair places before, but I'd imagine there's legalese involved - i.e. who is responsible in the event of the TV being bricked. If a repair guy bricks it, I'd imagine Panasonic are insured against it... if it's the end user, tough.

That said, I'd like to think I'm qualified to do the update... but I'm not about to write a "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!!!" letter  ;D

Hi all.

Starting to get a bad feelin about all this now  :( also heard something disturbing from a member on tuther forum, I cant talk about on here but its something that just shouldn't happen with using a TV and I hope it will prove to be a costly failure to Panasonic. >:(

Back on topic :) My sets unchanged still and a mates sisters new ST30 has got the issue too. It was a hard call but for the money and needs there was no other set she could have got. I was hoping she may get lucky but no, my mate told me today the issue is there. I really hope for everyone that Panasonic sort this soon, my patience is running low.

After being told that Panasonic UK had to push for this after getting complaints, I'm shocked to hear some models had the 'fix' already applied in the factory, I'm sure production must have stopped some time ago. If what I have been told is more bull from Panasonic, bull I have been passing on to others I will be extremely peed off >:(
