2012 Panasonic Plasma's.
« on: 06 December 2011, 01:22:11 PM »
Just looking at what is being said over on HDJunkies looks like the new panels are up there with the 9G kuro's and a teaser for us, they have achieved something not seen before on a flat panel........... ::)

Panasonic have been saying that going back to their G12 Panels. It would be excellent if true although personally I doubt it. Time will tell I suppose (when the pre-release hype calms down). I would imagine their are many out there who believe panny have already produced a display that surpassed the Pioneer 9G & 9.5g  displays. Unfortunately for me i'm not one of them.

A consumer panel that's not badly flawed perhaps. IMHO of course :-)

True that. They D8000 is an excellent PDP imo (haven't seen the D6900). I hope Sammy don't rest on their laurels with their next-gen PDP.

It's such a clichéd phrase, but: it's going to be really, really interesting. This year has been the first one where Samsung have basically been on nearly equal (or some who have had really bad luck with green splodges, etc. might say, better) footing than Panasonic.

The last big performance improvement was the original NeoPDP in 2009... I wonder if we're due another jump forward?

My prediction for Panny 2012.
Same black levels as this year, dithering not as harsh, better light output (cant be anyworse than the VT30 that is far too dull), style to be about the sameand last of all blue splats not green  :P

I think Panasonics this year were over hyped and not worth the money. There is too many flaws for the price of there TVs the Samsungs are imo are bang on for there price.
Having had a VT30 and now a D8000 I can say imo the Samsung is better in all regards apart from the Panasonic having slightly better blacks.
