Pop on the colour slide that shows it up (prob green lol). Put a clean thin cloth over the little blighter then flick it with your nail, Make sure you do it directly over it and it may need a few flicks  ;), you could try another colour if it shows and try it again if it dont work. not too hard tho  :o :P.

Is there any news regarding european Panasonic Convention yet? It would be interesting to see european specs and estimated pricing.

Foxhounder - yes there is. We'll shortly be posting news on the site.

The convention runs from Monday, 20th February to Tuesday, 21st.

Of course, we will have our usual live coverage. Details coming soon.

Forget about the typical boring Black improvement. It's time Panasonic designed a LAG FREE HDTV, or some sort of device that gets rid of it all together for gaming. They also should stop skimping out on picture control options for their less expensive panels. I'd rather have better brightness levels then better black levels personally. LCD/LED's still reign supreme in the brightness department which makes all the difference for those colorful videogame titles such as Mario Galaxy and the like as well.

And i doubt we'll get an improvement in motion handeling, plus reducing that nasty dithering effect. either. ;p

When OLED's become affordable people will be saying LCD/Plasma/LED what?...

There wont be a lag free plasma due to the nature of the tech the min lag is around 15ms.
This post will explain more  ;)
http://www.avforums.com/forums/16439442-post11.html

As for motion, Panasonic panels run with 1080 lines of motion resolution, the likes of Samsung and LG run around 900 lines on there plasma about 700 on LCD/LED.

When OLED becomes cheaper I will race you to the front of the que to get one  ;D
If I had the pennies I would get one the 2nd half of this year but I doubt theres that much loose change down the back of my sofa.  :)

Well if you got $10,000 to spair, than Samsung's latest and oh so greatest 55" 'Super' OLED arriving this year will have you covered.lol  :P

Anyways, I'm absolutely sick and tired of my current LG 42" LK450 1080p LCD for watching movies....The blur/motion handeling is seriously getting to me. It's distracting and makes for one incredibly annoying(at times) artifical and lowsy looking experience. The average black levels aren't helping either. :P I've got a 720p 42" plasma as well and i totaly prefer it over the LCD due to the superior and Somewhat CRT-like motion handeling and it's more natural looking picture.  8)

As far as gaming goes, I'm still unsure of it all as its a toss up. For gaming, LCD's produce a much more wow-worthy brighter image with a crisper/cleaner picture, and pure whites but with terrible motion handeling which is inherent to the tehcnology, which is much more noticable when zipping the camera around in anything first or 3rd person related(Sidescrollers and platformers fair better) I just can't stand it! Then there's possible screen clouding which i have 'and' light shining out the back of my Set at times. eek!  :o

While plasma's rock better motion handeling(crappy dithering effect aside) which is the main selling point aside from the usual superior contrast/black levils(depending)....That aside, I'm leaning towards getting a temporary new Plasma until i upgrade towards the end of the year to a 3D 1080p 55". Yet for now I'm looking at the Panasonic 42" X3. if the 16ms input lag also is the same for NTSC models.

My current Plasma is terrible in the input lag department, has grey bars on the left and right side for 4:3 content, and also boasts mediocre black levels. Still prefer it over that junky Samsung D450 though. :P

Also 16ms is perfectly fine for anything that is tradionally controlled based. But step into Motion control territory with the wii and you'll need every single little MS you can get as the pointer controls for ex are 1:1-fluid with your arm/hand movements. My LK450(VA Panel) is 16ms for non HD gaming such as the wii, and the difference between it and my LAG free CRT is quite noticable for example in Metroid Prime 3's pointer control scheme in combination with the CRT's perfect motion handeling which makes for an incredibly jaw dropping experience, not so much on my lCD. sigh*

Otherwise, 16ms is absolutely fantastic for tradition controlled titles. The minor lag is still present, although most people wouldn't feel it. But having a CRT by your side and shifting between the two would yield a bit of a difference based on my testing. Anyways, I'm a nintendo nut, and I'm all about my Wii aside from retro gaming and so motion controls and having next to bo input lag is very imortant to me. 16ms is the lowest and that still doesn't quite cut it for me regarding titles that utlise motion controls. everything else, hell ya it's great!

Wow, talk about derailing the topic. sorry!  :P

No Probs LOL and welcome to the Forum. :)

hahaha, thanks!
And blugh, I'm just going to sell my current LCD and replace it for now with a 32" Tube CRT until i get a plasma. I mean what good is HD, Progressive scan, Widescreen, HDMI and a larger picture if the motion handeling is piss poor and you have dark grey black levels.lol And Ahhh, CRT's...the good old days! fantastic black levels, perfection motion that retains every single little detail without a wonky hiccup and great color....Yet they're dinosaur heavy and rock some sweet geometry problems depending haha.  It takes me back to the 80's(Favorite decade!) especially....Only I'll be lacking the classic wood panel finish hehe. ;)

The Panny 720p 2012 X4(or whatever it will be called) I'm guessing will practically offer the same PQ as the X3 but with slightly better blacks and a higher price tag i take it? if so I think I'll pass. XP
