Well its not a 'true' OLED screen as in each OLED is built up in RGB but its more a white OLED with colour filters...think kinda like LCD screen but not... ???

EDIT for spelling  ???

It is using OLED tech but not as I put it 'pure' OLED tech. Even doing things this way its predicted to have a contrast ratio of around 100,000:1 it marketing babble thats around 1 billion-zillion:1.
No screen is yet to hit that mark. The pixel refresh rate is supposed to be 1000 times faster than LCD too so its like having a plasma LCD hybrid with best blacks and contrast ever.

This could even be the set that will make Rob upgrade from his lovely Pio. ..... Maybe.  ;)

Anyone get the feeling LG might pull a few surprises out the bag after a disappointing performance in 2011?

Yes. There oled based sets if they go main stream will beat everything to date. If they work on there nano led sets they could release a set kinda like sharps elite.

Yeah the 980T was a huge let down from 288 dimming zones to 77 or something like that. If they kept the 288 I'm sure we would be enjoying our lovely passive 3D nano LED sets right now.  ;)

Not sure what went on with that pre pro model that a member had but by all accounts his replacement 'T' is even better (december build), not been over there recently tho.

I feel LG have the innovation to fire ahead if they just stuck to the plan . Having said that i wasn't impressed with 2D on the 550's i had. I think that when a Plasma is 'Good' with the right material they still can't be beat  ;)..... Apart from my LZD80 that is LOL  :P

Be interesting to see what LGs plasmas are like this at CES. I hope they moved ahead like the Samsungs.
