British euro sport channel logo
« on: 01 February 2012, 04:31:07 PM »
Hi all

If you watch a lot of british euro sport on a plasma tv you know all about the logo being burnt in to your screen.
Last year I pick up a Panasonic 50VT30 two weeks before the tour de France started .
I left the VT on 24/7 for the two weeks leading up to the tour as to run it in .
I watched 4 hours a day with low contrast setting for the full three weeks of the tour .
I can still see the euro sport logo today !
British euro sport logo is the brightest logo out there in this day and age of flat screen tv i think it's about time euro sport get with the program like ITV HD ,BBC HD and so on.
Today I gave them a call to put my problem with there logo to there broadcasting department .
They said they  have had some complaints about this matter in the past and would pass mine to the relevant persons to see if this could be resolved .
If you are in the same boat as me and would like to see there logo more transparent , then call the number below .
The more complaints they receive  the sooner they sort it out .

UK eurosport     ...........    Tel . 0845 6721010

Agreed, really not necessary. One day one of the tv manufacturers is gonna figure away to mist over that part of the screen, surely it can't be that hard?

I'd love it if they did this. Not even for image retention, it's just the logos are a pain in the ass.

Let me know how you get on with your complaint. No doubt they will give you the usual story of "People like the logo!"

That's  been on my mind since I got the logo screen burn on a £2000 TV .
Built in the TV by the manufacturer would be great ,I was thinking more of an in line device that could mist out a selected corner of the screen .A simple black box with four courser keys on it ,one for each corner of the screen , how hard could it be !
Inline HDMI logo blocker !  One for the dragons den LOL
I paid £80 for a HDMI lead once So i would pay good money for gadget that blocked logo's

My new VT50 doesn't like the logo either :( . Or maybe it likes it to much and wants to keep it. I guees your complaints didn't work. I'm assuming it's the same logo on both British Eurosport and Eurosport International (in my case Denmark)? I haven't even watched it much, just a few tennismatches (=lots of commercials). I found this http://feedback.yahoo.com/forums/169828-euro-sport/suggestions/3146047-eurosport-logo-on-tv-channels-is-not-friendly-for-  and voted for it and would like others to do the same.

Thank you . Don't know if it helps. But at least we tried doing something. Well if they don't get the rights for the WTA tour renewed,  it will just be during the 3*2 weeks of Grand Slam tennis my nerves will be tested.

I hate all onscreen logo's, no need for any of them, they are just a distraction when you are watching, sure you get used to them after a while but they are so annoying.  Film4 no longer has any logo's, not sure if they ever did, but they certainly don't at the moment but too many do, another pet hate of mine is squished titles while they talk about the next programme or an announcer talking over the end titles of a good movie score.
