Small Screen TVs

As you know, getting hold of a 26" 1080p display with VA and 24p support is impossible.

However, more and more monitors are starting to fill the void that is overlooked by TV manufactures. And unlike TV, monitors come with 3 year warranty

Sorry to be dim but why is VA important?

Also what are peoples thoughts on these http://www.anandtech.com/show/5297/samsung-announces-series-7-and-series-9-monitors

Specifically the T27B750, and what would be the expectations for TV watching experience based on the panel type?

In this article http://www.pcmonitors.org/news/samsung-series-7-lineup-c24b750x-c27b750x-and-t27b750 VA is mentioned again.

VA LCD panels have the best contrast performance compared to IPS (found in LG and Panasonic LCD TVs) and TN (found in most cheap PC monitors).

The majority of PC monitors are fitted with cheap and low-quality TN panel. The very basic form of LCD tech.

IPS and VA are the evlution of TN. IPS is found high-end monitors but recently LG has managed to produce budget IPS at the cost of producing TN, which is a major breakthrough. It means LG can produce large high-quality monitors that cost very little.

AUO and Samsung have also found a way to produce VA panels cheaper. In addition, Samsung developed its own technology to compete with LG's IPS called PLS. IT has all the characteristics of an IPS panel including wider viewing angle and poor black level.

The WVA sounds like Wide VA Wide Angle VA (VA panel with wider viewing angles).

IT's too early to tell but the C-PVA and PLS panels produced by Samsung were plagued with problems (mainly backlight bleeding and uniformity).

In simple terms, I'd say that TN panels are office-grade: they are suitable for working with text editors, some Internet surfing - the simple graphic stuff, that does not contain too much of a picture information.
And IPS/*VA panels are TV/video-grade: they offer significantly better performance while viewing photos and videos with rich picture information.
I suppose, using IPS/*VA display at home is always a better idea. I have Sony LCD monitor with MVA panel, and when I see any particular photo on it after any TN display, it looks fresh new to me - there's so much additional colour information, shades and nuances that were absent even on well setup TN.
