Vincent, im also using the user setting for both picture and colour temperature on the LG 42LF65 and am trying to calibrate it for a dark room setting.
I'm mainly concentrating on calibrating it using HDMI input from a Panasonic DMP-BD35 blu-ray player.
Can you please post the actual values of the settings that you used to achieve the settings that came closest to D65? (i.e. picture settings, user2 preset, which are the values you ended up with for contrast, brightness, colour, sharpness and tint).
I ended up having the following:

Picture:
contrast 75
brightness 48
colour 45
sharpness 0
tint 0

colour temperature: (user preset)

red: -8
green: 10
blue: -20

I've tried using the digital video essentials calibration dvd but when i start with adjusting the RGB values (using the USER2 color temperature setting for this) to get the picture to look "right" (i.e. not having over- or under saturated colours) i'm not happy with the green tones (too much of them) in the picture.

Thanks in advance for you patience and i sincerely hope you can post the numbers you used.
Keep up the good work and sorry to hear about Colin leaving  :(

Cheers
Marco
