1920x1080 via VGA: which TV's support this out of the box?

I know the recent Samsung LE-series can do this, but which other brands/models can (so without PowerStrip fiddling)?

Ive been looking around for this aswell, so far its just the latest samsungs, other tvs will support it 'unnoficially' through hdmi, for hdmi you will need to buy a dvi-hdmi adaptor with most modern cards for vga you will also need to buy a dvi-vga connector.

I am going to go for the m86.

I just found out today that the newest LG panels (in different panel sizes) support 1920x1080 resolution for computer output, via both the VGA and HDMI/DVI connectors:

- xxLF6x
- xxLY9x
- xxPF9x

It is mentioned in their manual.

I don't think that a PC with VGA can transmit HDMI and especially definitely not in 1920x1080p resolution (despite what some experts say) - If I am wrong than somebody could verify that I am wrong with proof:-

1) HDMI signals, in the short term, could be transferred using component until AACS is used
(HDMI, encryption HDCP caused numerous problems when it was first used and nodoubt AACS, encryption for
films will cause numerous problems also when it is used (enabled).
2) HDMI source requires a HDMI connector to transmit a HDMI signal
(For example if HD TVs had VGA connections instead of HDMI connections I am certain that it wouldn't be
possible to play either Blu-ray DVDs or HD DVDs (high defintion) disks, despite what the experts say.

The official HDMI organisation's website:
http://hdmi.org/press/pr/pr_20070212.asp

Website Encyclopeadia (VGA):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

Verifies that VGA is analogue not digital
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Graphics_Array

Diagram showing the various resolutions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Video_Standards.svg

I think that it verivies that VGA only has 640x480 = 307,200 that is less than one million that should = HD
Despite, that there appears to be at least one and maybe two lawsuits in the USA where the judge stated that a TV with one pixel could be classified as being an high definition TV - surprised me, but there probably isn't an official number of pixels for an HD TV to have:

I have managed to find one article source that verifies the court case (next story below the 2 purple laser picture):
Title: Another consumer feels let down by HD, but attempt to sue Panasonic fails

im planning to do the same on my laptop, im sure VGA is capable doing 1920x1080 because i have already used on a desktop computer hooked to a lcd monitor, it was 1920x1200 because the bit difference between the aspect ratio of pc monitors and hdtvs
but vga output is capable of displaying 1080p, the problem is the HDTV supporting 1080p on the VGA input, and about the HDCP its a problem only if using HDMI, VGA doesnt have anything to do with it
so if the HDTV is no displaying 1080p on the HDMI can be a HDCP problem, but on the VGA input, it doesnt matter, because first its not a digital signal

now im planning to buy a 46 or 52 lcd 1080p from sony, not sure yet what model, but i would like to use as a pc monitor and using my laptop as a movie player. now i need to know if the sony's 1080p hdtv are capable of displaying 1080p via VGA input
has someone tested this ?
