Here we go... a wall of uncalibrated displays in VE (which is actually bigger than it looks on the YouTube videos, BTW), showing Harry Potter from a DirecTV 1080i broadcast.

The displays, from memory, are:

An LG Plasma with a matte finish (yep, really - it looks almost like an LCD in that respect)
A Toshiba high end display
Panasonic VT50
Samsung ES8000 - the largest screen size is actually using what looks like a Sharp LCD panel
Samsung E8000 (I think!) PDP
An ELITE display that I don't know the model number of

That isn't the definitive list of displays for the shootout, BTW.

At least here you can freely discuss all other sites and reviews without posts getting deleted and will definitely be watching the shootout to see which one comes out on top.

So I'm about to get picked up to head out to the store to begin the calibrations.

Kevin Miller is appearing later today and I think Dewayne (D-nice) is flying in tomorrow.

Yesterday I acclimatised myself to the US Panasonic displays since the specs and menus are different nto the international models. As expected, the panel appears to behave in the exact same way. Same panels, different menus.

Will be fun to check out the Elite LED LCD too. It still uses that strange Sharp LCD subpixel layout.

Mate i wish i was there, it sounds like you are having a great time.

If you get time can you tell us what some of the differences are and if it makes the calibration process easier or about the same. :)
