David makes interesting point on UltraHD in review. Just how much "Ultra" is your QuadHD or 4K, if it's not strictly Rec.2020 compliant? It's not even aimed at VW1000 projector, but at the whole "4K/UHD" trend.

I think having 4K/QuadHD resolution is not enough to call it something new. True UHDTV-compliant display shall be in line with Rec.2020 in both color space and 10/12-bit color capabilities and so on. Am I asking too much? Probably. Especially with consumer market in mind.
Then again, what will current 4K owners do when Rec.2020-compliant UHDTVs and Rec.2020 content finally hits the market? I suppose, they won't be able to enjoy majority of new fruits in image.

I tested both Sony 84X9005 and LG 84LM960V - they're just Rec.709 TVs with lots of pixels. Exactly the same performance as usual Full HD models, except for 3840x2160@24 or 30Hz handling through HDMI.
Not to mention it's hard to "test" one when the only 4K source you have at hands is custom PC with few short commercial demos... I see David was well-prepared with custom 4K content and source. Was it also a PC?
By the way, thanks for great review! Can't wait for another 4K inspection from HDTVtest. ;)
