Wait for the price war between the Xbox-One and PS 4 next year.

If you wanna get it sooner, then it's better to place a preorder. PS4 will be available at limited quantities on launch.

I don't think there will be significant price cuts in first year. It doesn't make a huge difference to wait a whole year and save 10.
Maybe they'll cut the price ~2 years later, when they'll release an updated/Slim-versions.

There should be much better software the following year, who knows about price cuts, i think it depends on cost of production and the state of the economy and whether Microsoft go to war with Sony, i'd wait just to make sure the hardware is sound, i wouldn't want an issue like that which happened with Xbox360 early on, anyways that's just me, i never buy straight away, i like to read and read and read some more and then wait a while before i purchase electronics.

Personally I'm waiting for more titles that interest me. There's not many RPG games announced yet. I'm tired of COD games.

Yesterday my Daughter was playing on the PS4 for 20mins as Sony brought it along to her school...............she loved it. I wonder if Sony were thinking about the run up to Christmas  :chin:  :o:lol:

Tempted to get one but it needs a RPG game to convince me.
Might grab one when demon souls 2 appears.

I have this on pre-order in the hope of 4k video content sometime in 2014. I'm now wondering whether it's a good idea as I don't really play games and such 4k content might not be forthcoming at all. Seems a bit indulgent to order day and date especially as Sony can't even be bothered to make it 3d Blu-ray compatible from the start. I'm sure I will be able to pick one up next year if they get their act in order. Should I cancel?

Why not just wait until there is 4K content and the systems are in better supply?

I was at David Katz' lab yesterday and had a look at the PS4 - looks very nice but consoles always drop in price... I wouldn't really buy one at launch myself.

Just seen, no 3D support at launch............seems strange or is this another nail in the coffin of 3D in the home?

Oh, they'll add that, I'm sure - when they get a moment. It's clearly not important to them. But yes - 3D in the home is essentially dead in the eyes of the manufacturers, and this is a reflection of that.

I wonder if it could have been different had they found a way to keep 3D images bright and un-tinted. Almost nobody managed that (a few Sony LCDs did out of the box).

I wonder in years to come if glasses free and maybe internal 3D conversion that looks as good as studio based will ever be a reality?  :chin:
