Make a database with all the calibration settings from your reviews !

Please give the full calibrated settings of each TV you review ( including 2014 models ).
Some people don't have professional software/hardware or know a calibrator or even afford one.

Many people do search for the calibration settings from those who reviewed TV models, in order to copy paste them in their TV ( since a TV model will have very small variations from one unit to another )

You can include them in your review or in a separate database.

Thank you so much !

It is quite pointless, since we discuss it all the time.

What do people expect from individual calibrated settings of another TV set? It'll be either equivalent to default settings on your TV sample or even worse. Any real improvement will be a big luck or a mere coincidence.

It's much easier and efficient to go through a basic setup of TV with a simple calibration disc. It'll ensure that your TV is not screwing a picture on fundamental level. Any other in-depth adjustments like white balance or colours should be made individually. Otherwise copying settings from another set is a placebo effect.

What would be the point, given that the settings are unique to each unit?

What would be the point, given that the settings are unique to each unit?

First it proves you actually calibrate them and don't give magical pictures with text. It's makes the article more technical. More viewers because people will try to use the calibration settings you used or compare them to their own !

Some brands like Finlux behave quite uniformly and using the settings obtained from the review sampleís calibration work in 95+ % of the time perfectly fine.

Itís a fairly easy choice, if you value picture accuracy. Put the Finlux in to the Cinema picture mode and choose a colour temperature of Warm from the advanced settings. This will get you a lot closer than the out of box settings but you can do even better by following the steps in the Picture Perfect Guides.

You could also try the settings obtained from the review sampleís calibration which, since the Finlux TVs behave quite uniformly, should get you even closer to accuracy. We certainly canít imagine many owners shelling out half the price of the TV for a pro calibration.
