TV 55" - 60" as second monitor for PC
« on: 11 November 2014, 07:05:01 PM »

Hello

I'm looking for tv 55" - 60" to my room. I'll watch it from ~4m away so distance(angle 40-50 so no for hooks) thats why I'm not sure which is optimal. I want to use it as my second monitor in my PC so Full HD 1920x1080@60Hz is required as colours(Chroma 4:4:4 is on plus as UHD). Im not a big fan of "smart tv" also im not interested with linked programs(skype etc) and Wifi/LAN. Good timing, reaction and refresh rate on screen is required but not high end models, just normal TV without any extra features(USB is optional but not necessary). I don't know about LED or LCD difference, but i'll be disappointed if tv will ghosting/clouding screen that's why i want ask if they fixed it after years. I don't want 3D passive or with glasses, let them be in future :D

My graphic card have HDMI(1.4a) and Display port(1.2), but I didn't saw any 4k TV with display port which is sad :( 4k@30Hz is a bit sloppy if use it for more than video films. My parents bought Samsung TV few years ago, my PC monitor is a Samsung too and I never had any displays from other companies.

I found few topics similar to my request, but I didn't get anything good.
I live in Germany(sorry for my language) so I'm looking something in EU and i can spend 500-800 euro(620-1k$).

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately your budget doesn't allow for a good 4K TV, certainly not one with Displayport. Not knowing the price in Germany, I suggest you look into either the Samsung UE55H6400 or Sony KDL-55W829 for full 4:4:4 reproduction. My reviews of the smaller versions are here:

Thanks Vincent
I bought Samsung UE55H6410, because I couldn't find 6400. The only difference I found is a white colour instead of black and 2 feet so I can't turn him left/right ^^
