Best 65inch tv for games
« on: 18 December 2014, 09:41:35 PM »

Hi Guys,

It's my first post, hope you are all well. I have a tx-p55vt65b amazing TV. I've recently moved house and the wall and lounge space is bigger. So I need a bigger TV. Im preferably looking at 65inch screen.

My budget is 3-4k.

I've always been pro plasma never liked the LED screens, however I have seen some great screens around recently so much to choose from.

Mainly want it to watch movies and play PS4 games. Also watch the odd football match on sky HD.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be great.

Thanks

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Realistically speaking, the only 65in TV that can rival your TX-P55VT65B for picture quality is its bigger brother, the TX-P65VT65B. Unfortunately it's going to be impossible to find stock in the UK (although I haven't checked recently).

Among the LED LCDs, the top choices are Samsung UE65HU7500, Sony KD-65X9005B and Panasonic TX-65AX802B. Because you game, I've ruled out the Panasonic TX-65AX902B which has super-high input lag.

The forthcoming (maybe May/ June?) LG 4K OLED is going to be out of your price range.

Or, maybe you can sit closer to your Panasonic TX-P55VT65.

Warmest regards
Vincent

Hahaha, I find the... "Reluctance"(?) of this post funny

Personally, I've only seen the 55" Sony X9005 out of the above. I helped my friend set one up, and got to "take it for a spin" :) A cracking TV! Very good mll and contrast performance for an LCD, but it still can't compete with a decent plasma IMHO. And it certainly doesn't hold a candle to your VT65. Personally, I'd sit closer until something bigger AND better came along :P Not an option? :)

How about buying second hand? :)
