So what do you think, which one of these new models (CES 2015) will be best for gaming?

************************************************

Right now i see the W850C as the only option. We need to see if other companies will offer a FULL HD model. Very good size options too as i consider 50" the minimum size for a TV.

The Sony uses a weak cheap but probably stronger than last year. (no idea about upscaling if MediaTek improved it to Samsung levels.)

Thanks for your answer!

How will I benefit from buying the W850C compared to the old W828/829? I really don't need 4K.

The 50" & 55" are called W800c
The 65" & 75" are called W850c

Can't find in their specs any difference. Probably the 50" & 55" use same panel and the 65" & 75" use another panel. also a difference in speakers.

Speaker Configuration : 2ch, Two way speaker [Tweeter (30mm) + Woofer (40x100mm)] x 2
Speaker Configuration : 2ch, Full Range (30 x 80mm) x 2

And stand

Stand Design : Silver Mirror Shaft

Also :

The 50" & 55" have  Backlight Type : Edge LED
The 65" & 75" have  Backlight Type : Direct LED

No one can say for sure unless they have experience with new TVs or test them.
Anyone can wipe the dust off the crystal ball, though.

Here are the new devices from Sony 2015.

4K devices:
All 4K devices get a completely new image processor called "X1" and use Android!

4K devices:
X9405C: 75 inches, Wedge design, X-tended Dynamic Range PRO (Full LED local dimming), Triluminos, MF XR1200, active 3D, high-res audio with lateral, forward-facing speakers
X9305C: 65 and 55 inches, Wedge design, X-tended Dynamic Range (Edge LED Local Dimming), Triluminos, MF XR1200, active 3D, high-res audio with lateral, forward-facing speakers
X9105C: 75 inch, ultra-slim (4.9mm thick), Triluminos, MF-XR800, active 3D
X9005C: 65 and 55 inch, ultra-slim (4.9mm thick), Triluminos, MF-XR800, passive 3D
S8505C: 65 and 55 inch Curved, Triluminos, MF-XR800 (3D technology not previously known)
X8505C: 75, 65 and 55 inches, Slim, Triluminos, MF-XR800, active 3D
X8305C: 49 and 43 inches, Slim, Triluminos, MF-XR800, no 3D, no NFC one-touch Mirroring, One-flick remote control only optional

2K devices:
Until there is W75 MF-XR800 and Android, remains below a certain unspecified "smart TV".
W855C: 75 and 65 inches, Slim, MF-XR800, active 3D, Android
W805C: 55, 50 and 43 inches, Slim, MF-XR800, active 3D, Android
W755C: 55, 50 and 43 inches, Slim, MF-XR800, Android
W705C: 48, 40 and 32 inches, Slim, MF-XR200, no Android
R553C: 48 and 40 inches, MF-XR100, no Android
R503C: 32 inches, MF-XR100, no Android
R453C: 40 inches, MF-XR100, no Android
R403C: 32 inches, MF-XR100, no Android

It drops the complete 9-Series 2K away, no NFC and no more Triluminos at 2K. For a number 4K devices with lots of choice. The devices are probably available from spring 2015.

Regards,

Hagge
