They cannot officially confirm the decision before it is time. Remember how it went with plasmas? The decision was made, but there wasn't official confirmations before the end of 2013.

What can I say about OLED? I recently spoke with local Panasonic TV product manager. I asked him about OLED rumors, and he instantly nodded: "Yup".
I'm like: "No way? Can you even talk about it yet?"
He finally said that OLED TV is in works and it is anticipated to be announced and lauched before the end of the year.
IFA 2015 seems to be an appropriate choice.

I hope they iron out everything they can with LG OLED panels. Right now Panasonic's 4K processing is doing great, apart from rather high input-lag.
