Light vertical bands on Panasonic 48AX630B
« on: 14 January 2015, 10:18:42 PM »

Hi all,

I have very faint vertical lines on either side of the screen at the edges and it's a bit annoying when watching sd channels. What I can't understand is that it's not evident on hd channels or when watching Blu ray movies? I am tempted to return it and have asked panasonic if this sort of thing can be rectified with a firmware update but they just said I haven't got the aspect ratio right but I have because it's set to 16:9 and overscan is off. Thanks in advance!

Return it and look for LCD from 2015.

Don't waste your time anymore.

Can you please provide a picture? Vertical lines most probably is defective LCD module, replace.

It'll be there, it's just that you haven't noticed it. The better resolution of HD will probably help mask the effect somewhat.

It's probably just standard LCD non-uniformity issues.
