42GT50 Panel replacement - is it genuine?
« on: 20 January 2015, 02:00:25 PM »

Hi,

Is it possible to determine the identity of the replacement panel via access to the service menu? How do I get such access?

Is there a better way to determine if it's a genuine OEM Panasonic item? Are non-OEM parts even a problem in this industry?

Slightly paranoid about the agent who performed the work, based on the quality of their communications and inability to replace more than 1 in 3 of the screws holding the rear panel in place... put my mind at rest please :-)

Regards,
Mark.

The panels were made only by Panasonic at their own Amagasaki plant.
I'm pretty sure there's no 3rd party replacements for that, only the original panel can be fit into and working with other electronics.

Yeah, it really couldn't be anyone else's panel.
